  I just discovered WGT about a month ago.  Somehow I've worked my way to Lvl 33 and Pro ranking.  I spend most of my time playing 3 hole matches.  I have upgraded my driver, 3 wood, and irons.  Although the stats don't seem to show 3 hole matches, I'm guessing I've won as many as I've lost.

  So what I'd like to understand is, what do I need to do to get better and earn credits (not coins) that I can use to buy better equipment.  Do I need to force myself to play 18 hole ranked games?  I don't enjoy that as much as playing matches.  I tried playing the US Virtual Open and realize how bad I am (shot like a 95) and see the leaders are in the low 50's.  I honestly thought there must be a way to cheat to score like that, but I see from these forums that's not the case. 

  So please give me the basics as to how to best progress with this game.  I don't think I can improve enough playing all 3 hole matches.  Also, I play from my iPad.  Is there better options that make the game easier?

  3 hole matches are on mobile only and do not have an effect on average.   There are some players who do play very well on the mobile platform, while others of us prefer the PC version.  

  WGT advances mobile players based on their results in the 3 hole format.  But 3 hole matches are treated like practice rounds.  So if you look at player stats you can find some who are a higher tier than you and yet have an average of 150 and no stats in their history.

  You don't have to play only 18 hole rounds, you can also play 9 hole rounds.  To effect your stats and average they have to be ranked rounds, not practice rounds.

  This game takes lots of practice to become really good at it, as the scores in the US Open show.  I doubt if very few of those resluts in the open are the result of cheating, if any.

  While you like your equipment, you will find out as you progress it is entry level equipment, and is only a bit better than the starter equipment.  Go to the Pro Shop and look at club spes, especially on the mid and upper level clubs.  Compare them to your clubs.

  The best advice that is almost universally given is to not buy Irons until you unlock the Ping G25 set available at L59.  They are the first High Trajectory irons available, and are a huge game changer.

  For other things use the WGT Forum search feature to the right.  There are lots of topics on improving, equipment choices, etc.

  If you want to get better then its simple practice practice and then more practice . Just like the real game you will have to put your time in . The only gimmes in the game are in practice stroke play or match play , other than that everything else you earn .You can do the offers to earn credits but it takes time to do so . Do the videos and surveys through Peanut Labs to earn credits or make purchases also .

  Better clubs will only help you play better if you are willing to play and practice with them . Again just like the real game you will have to learn how . So if you are willing to commit to the game then and only then will you get better results from the game . 

  The pc / laptop plays on a different platform than the mobile version .The game play is different and the credit offers may be different as well . So if you can start playing on the computer version to expand your options . On the pc version you can play 1 -18 hole practice rounds and there are no coins on this version of the game . If you watch the videos and do the surveys you can earn credits for ball and club upgrades and purchases .

  First off, the VUSO qualifier can't be a measure for starting players - it has cruel conditions which can only be mastered by masters of the game - Legends and above. I played a 71 today ;)

  If you think to win those credits, be warned that it doesn't work this way. You rather have to get better equipment to - perhaps - have a chance to win something.

  Despite of the misleading $ displays at certain places, this site is not really suitable to make a fortune. 99 % of these "$" are mere credit software licences "of no monetary value" (quoting the T&Cs).

  The "Get Credits" section shows how to obtain them, either paying with money or paying with loads of your time. I've come to see my Euro spendings as investments in my leisure, and I received a lot for up to 10 € per month.

  To become better, you need to practice and grind. If you want to win credits, the PC version is probably more suitable. There are buy-in RGs and Brackets, and there are Challenge games of Matchplay, Skins and Blitz (with a lot of sharks around).

  Traditionally, we would recommend to play strokeplay on all courses to get to know them, but I can't make a recommendation for mobile play.

  Better equipment comes with higher levels, and the ladder becomes really steep, requiring a lot of XPs to arrive at certain clubs.

  So, it depends on the time and money that you are willing to sacrifice to the game. Most importantly, have fun!!
