Would someone please explain to me why the Original Poster of a thread doesn't have the ability to delete his own thread?

Now, again, I will have to read another same-old-thread about a player wanting to join a new club.  They will probably get 5 club invites a week even though they have made their move months ago.

While I'm on a rant, why isn't there an easier way for club owners to delete threads in their own club forum?  I want a delete button right next to each thread so I don't have to open every one, pick the whole thread or parts of it, sacrifice a new born, get nailed to a cross, state a reason for the deletion, then choose another delete button and then get kicked back to the first page of the forum when I'm working on the third page.  And sometimes, I get this "Oops" error that kicks me out of our forum completely if I click all of those buttons faster than the WGT servers can keep up.

And another thing...,  never mind.  Why am I wasting my breath.

Why care for CC threads? They disappear in oblivion by themselves...

Giving OP the ability to delete a thread that he or she started could open up a huge can of worms. Someone could start a really nasty thread using really foul language. Leave it up just long enough to offend quite a few people maybe even make sure a certain person sees it.   Then delete it before a mod has a chance to see it and deal with it and the OP in an appropriate manner. Thereby bypassing the  forum posting rules making this forum a total joke.

alosso - You are just wrong, but I will elaborate anyway, the threads in my clubs forum don’t delete themselves and they better not because there’s some good information that I want to keep.

borntobesting - I guess you are special, or again, just wrong.  My posts go through a moderator before they show up on one of the Main boards.  After that, I should own my post since I wrote it.

More waste of breath, except …

    - Happy Independence Day!!!!! -

    pdb1,

I appreciate your comment and you taking the time to illustrate instructions, but I guess you can't understand how cumbersome it is to clean out your forum since you don't do it. Or, perhaps you don't get that many forum posts.

I want our Nice and Friendly forum to be a wealth of valuable information for current members to reference and also for new members to read through.  How is a new member going to keep interested in absorbing the content if 95% of the threads are not worthy of a read.

Our forum is 5 pages and I'm due to trim about a half a page.

I didn't say that they deleted themselves, but newer threads pile above them. Thus, the older ones disappear in the bottom (and no search function to find them).
