I have over the last few months been working hard on improving my driving accuracy and greens in regulation stats. They really need to get above the 80% figure if you are to be one of the best players around. As a result I check all my stats at the end of each ranked round. Today I noticed that despite hitting every fairway my driving accuracy was shown as 88%. I realise why this has happened, the scorecard below makes it apparent. What I hope someone can tell me is if this is the norm for all ranked games?

I am sure I have seen 100% driving accuracy in my stats before after a ranked round.

I see something in that card I'd like to ask you about, T. I always thought it was just me but how many times do you see every other hole the same like that? It happens a lot to me and I always wondered if there were other forces at work. You know, game adjusting type forces. It's probably just a coincidence but it seems to happen a lot.

No tin foil hat here, just curious.

Did you hit 3wood off one of the par 4 tees? perhaps #1?

That must be it, I hit a 3 wood off the tee at the 7th due to the tailwind. Thanks PGAbound67, I didn't realise that had an effect. I just assumed it was on fairways hit irrespective of what club you used.

I happens to me a fair bit as well Jim. I have always regarded it as me being unable to make a birdie on the harder holes and taking my chances at the holes you really should be.

2 and 4 are difficult birdie holes. The 6th should be a birdie hole but is dependent on which side of the hole you leave your approach. The 8th is all about distance control, get that wrong and you leave yourself an unlikely putt for birdie.

It's the same on the back 9 at St Andrews. 10, 12, 14, 16 & 18 should be birdie holes.

Yeah, unfortunately it counts as a missed fairway in stats if you hit anything other than driver.....As to the birdie on every other hole, I've done it quite a few times as well....SUPER frustrating lol

I might be wrong in this but I believe that on par 3"s if your drive lands on the green then it counts as a missed fairway.  I am no math wiz but I think 8 fairways out of nine holes is roughly 89 percent
