I have been playing for a while now and I’ve pretty much figured out shots out of the rough, putting, etc. but chipping has my number. For instance, today I had 11 yds to the flag. It was 21 inches uphill. Pretty much a straight uphill. The wedge I was using claimed a 16 yd full shot. I figured an 80% shot on level ground would be 12.8 yds and the nearly 2 ft rise would leave me close. I even had a headwind though I think that should be negligible on such a low shot but it still went 16 yds. What am I missing?

    Whoo!

First up, those beginner wedges are very inconsistent.

Secondly, we need to know more about the shot, but you may not be aware of some steps to evaluate the upcoming shot. It is quite important to know whether you are hitting into a flat, up or downhill running green. Just because you are below the hole has no bearing on the slope of the green. The easiest way to check this is to switch the cam view to behind the hole and switch the cam from right/left to up/down.

Thirdly, purely your decision, but you would probably benefit from belonging to a more active CC with an active forum and higher tier players willing to share their knowledge. I know that many are much more forthcoming with this in a CC than they are on the main forums.

    Anyway. Good Luck.

    :^)

The pitch (w/ the right balls & equipment) is just as good if not better according to this vid

Now I know why my chips have been wonky. Thanks for posting that.
