Lost two of the GI-D's in one round on the Wolf's CTTP challenge this morning - one a jerky meter, and the other a late flinch-click on a practice swing - plop!... plop!... in pretty spectacular fashion, I might add! (shoulda saved the replays - those balls are REALLY BOUNCY!) - Prob'ly 'puter was updating something or other, hence the meter glitch the first time.
So... lesson learned... it's the "unlimited ball" from here on out on that challenge. ALOT o'water around those greens! :/ ... I tend to try shots on the challenges that I wouldn't normally try during a regular round. [That's one reason I'm glad that WGT hasn't included "fade & draw" into the shot capabilities. If they do do that in the future, they should only allow masters to be able to use it, IMO. Otherwise, a whole new can of complaint worms would be opened, as I'd think there would be alot more lost balls.] ;)
Funny thing is, it was only the third challenge that I've tried, with the better ball, and I did do better with it. The round before, I got a "gold accuracy award", whatever that means... (I think I hit 5 or 6 consecutive greens within 20ft?).
Haven't had to visit the pro-shop for replacement balls during a round, yet. Actually, early-on after I'd bought the better balls (think it was my first sleeve of them), I ran out of the GI-D's and was switched back to the reg ball, even though I had some "distance" pay-balls (forgot their model letters) remaining in my bag. That's when I decided to re-read the info about how WGT goes about changing them out.
Anyways, the mark-up does seem to work out, percentage-wise, and if some players choose to pay a premium for the fancy colored balls, it's good that they're offered... it keeps the prices of the white ones down for the rest of us!
