    piztaker:

Then keep your bag stocked. Blaming the game for your non-preperation is hardly fair. The rules of the game are available to anyone who cares to read them.

I couldn't agree more. And given that you can buy more during a round I really can't see how anyone has anything to moan about.

In reality you'd be DISQUALIFIED, how soft do you want WGT to be?

There are about a dozen threads about this and frankly it comes down to one thing.  Either be prepared before you tee off or don't *** about playing with the WGT standard balls.  In real golf, if you are playing by the rules, you can only play the round with the same brand and type of ball that you started with, called the one ball rule.

I know that many golfers don't adhere to this, especially in casual play but I try to do so.  Before I tee off I make sure I have an adequate number of balls in my bag.  I take out a sleeve of three balls and mark them with a blue pin, one dot on my first ball two on my second and three on my third.  That way I never mix them up because it is a violation to put a new ball in play unless you want to take the other out of play.

Again I realize that most golfers don't adhere to this but rules are rules and the penalty in real golf is DQ rather than going down to a 'range ball'.

I really thought this was  DEAD SUBJECT ... But since i have two more cents to put in on it i guess i will.  I notice that when proving a point , guys always compare to the rules of golf. I have played this game for 30 years i know the rules. but im not a pro, i only got as low as a 7 handicap.  This is the most realistic golf game online that you could play as far as a game goes. In real life, if i change balls in the middle of a round, i announce that im changing balls before i move on to the next hole or if i lose 1 on the course.Since i dont have a sponser , and i pay for my own balls unless i find a good pro v1 in thehazzards while looking for my ball...... why cant i just choose the 1 i want out of the bag.....lol.  you guys are way too serious...      oh yeah , and if i do run out , the guys i play with dont mind giving me a few out of thier bag.... the moral of the story is find some good buddies to play with and keep the game fun  ,,,, cheers

Flogging the dead horse, but hey, what the hell, he's in a better place now. ... Anyway, it does seem that the game could prompt the player to buy more balls when down to 1. Now you have to deliberately go into the pro shop in another window, which is somehow counter-intuitive (as one player in this post, for example, wasn't even aware you could do that).

Bottom line, though, getting switched back to the starter ball is something every player learns once on the WGT, the hard way, and then it doesn't happen anymore.

The one-ball stipulation is not an ordinary rule of golf, but may be imposed for certain competitions. In ordinary play, there is nothing preventing players from switching balls between holes for any perceived strategic advantage.

I always keep 2 balls in my other bag. I hope I'm not cheating or violating anyone.
