    Hello Everyone,

I have only been playing for about a month and I have been building up credits through ads and offers so I recently upgraded my driver to the Ping I25(L37) and the Ping I25 (L37) irons and I love both and they have certainly helped me out so far. My plan was to drop my hybrid and to add 3 wedges spacing down from my PW which is 105 yards. I have looked at the CG 588s and the ATVs level 30s and I liked the ATVs 30s because of price.

My problem is that I have a neurological disorder that effects my reflexes/response rate so with those wedges with a 3.0 speed meter on a full or even 3/4 power shot I can't come close to "ding" and I am way right so instead of aiming way left and hoping I thought I would reach out for advice. (I have no problem with the 4.5 speed meter on my Driver and irons).

I have only played with the starter ball to save credits, if I bought the ATV wedges and added a different ball to slow the meter more would this help me?  When looking at balls what would I look for to get my meter speed to a decent level that would make the wedges playable for me? (hope I asked that right)   Should I wait and look at the Mack Daddy wedges that are available to me in a couple more levels, they have a meter of 4.0, but there is only 52,56, and 60 degrees.

Really want to improve my short game and with a huge gap between my PW and starter SW it's a challenge now. I wish WGT would make a slower set of wedges for older players or someone like me who have medical issues. Thank you everyone in advance for your help, it's greatly appreciated.

    Ashley

The Mack Daddy's at L-43 through L-45 have 4 Meter speed. You have a Max Spin 64 degree wedge at L-52, that has a 3.0 meter. Those are closest to your level right now.

You would have to get slower meter balls to make use of the meter speed

Most times I tell players to wait until you get into the L-60's because at L-80 you can get the best in the game.

    Thats what I see.

Hey Ashley . In answer to your question a big YES . Using a ball to slow your meter should help you with your condition . Now which ball to use will be up to you . It will be hit or miss trial and error . You will have to decide how much you are willing to spend on those balls in order to slow your meter .

Unfortunately you will have to try a few different sleeves , to find the ball that works best for you . I will suggest that you start with a ball that has a meter speed of 2.5 and then work your way up from there . A good ball to start with would be the Callaways which start at 250 credits a sleeve .

You will also see that are balls which are specifically for slowing down the meter . You can start there as well but you will see that they are somewhat expensive . The Mack Daddy wedges dont come with a 64 degree wedge to every ones dismay . So there is no work around for that other than a different brand wedge to compensate .

If you can do the surveys and videos to earn credits . That will help to keep you from spending your own money . Its time consuming but cheaper than spending real money and many players are doing this myself included . Take care and hope this helps . :-)

    Hi Ashley

As Don and Lonnie have both said, slower meter balls will definitely help and pairing them with slower meter wedges will obviously improve things even more. Trying different combinations to find what works best can be a bit costly, not to mention take plenty of time if you are relying on offers and ads etc to get credits.

I hope you don't mind, but I've sent you a couple of different types of ball to try, 1 is a real budget cheap type and the other is a much better spec ball. Along with those I've sent one of the ATV wedges so that you can see how they work out as a combination, it should fit in and bridge the gap between your PW and SW just about right.

I hope this helps you find out what works better for you,

    Ade

the advice from those above is quite good, but I will point out or share that while I have tried to build my bag and clubs around slower meters and have even bought and purchased balls that are suppose to slow the meter down...I still encounter instances of what appears to be a jumpy meter, the meter seemingly speeding up, and erratic play (sometimes my own fault and sometimes because things seem to become inconsistent.)

I only share this because, I wouldn't want you to believe that  by implementing a slower meter ball and slower clubs, you are guaranteed to have a smooth meter all the time.  These things clearly help but don't expect things to flow smoothly or perfectly all the time or it can become frustrating...you will still experience some variability...now there are also some suggestions and tips out there to help limit or cut back on a jumpy meter as well... I think there are various options from the browser you use, to clearing your cache, the type of mouse used, etc...

unless you anticipate getting extremely good to compete in ready go's tournaments, which are very competitive, I recommend trying to make smart decisions on how you spend the credits you have otherwise you could end up upgrading your clubs 3, 4, 5 times.  If you plan accordingly, you can limit your upgrades to maybe 2 or 3 times at the most depending on how quickly you progress.  best of luck

Srixons at 180 a sleeve are a decent ball for those on a tight budget like myself. Will slow your meter down nearly as much as the suggested callys that are 250 a sleeve.

Thank you everyone for your advice. I have been practicing with several different balls and with the ATV wedge and right now practicing with the Mack Daddy that just became avaliable. The ATVs have become alot more playable and the Mack Daddy paired with the Cally slow meter balls is amazing, I can "ding" with that pairing and the ball stops on a dime. It's nice to finally see my ball not rolling forever LOL.

Ade, thank you so much for the wedge and balls, that was very kind of you.

Now I will just keep working on course management and working on short game. Oh and watching a ton of Revlon ads LOL.
