the advice from those above is quite good, but I will point out or share that while I have tried to build my bag and clubs around slower meters and have even bought and purchased balls that are suppose to slow the meter down...I still encounter instances of what appears to be a jumpy meter, the meter seemingly speeding up, and erratic play (sometimes my own fault and sometimes because things seem to become inconsistent.)
I only share this because, I wouldn't want you to believe that by implementing a slower meter ball and slower clubs, you are guaranteed to have a smooth meter all the time. These things clearly help but don't expect things to flow smoothly or perfectly all the time or it can become frustrating...you will still experience some variability...now there are also some suggestions and tips out there to help limit or cut back on a jumpy meter as well... I think there are various options from the browser you use, to clearing your cache, the type of mouse used, etc...
unless you anticipate getting extremely good to compete in ready go's tournaments, which are very competitive, I recommend trying to make smart decisions on how you spend the credits you have otherwise you could end up upgrading your clubs 3, 4, 5 times. If you plan accordingly, you can limit your upgrades to maybe 2 or 3 times at the most depending on how quickly you progress. best of luck
