If you want a safe chance at saving par, yes. BUT, unless you have a ridiculous tail wind, there are ways to get that birdie look. As with almost all the holes at any course, playing up to the pin is the best move.
Knowing that green slopes up before the pin and with room in front of it, landing a shot short on the green is not that difficult. Knowing the roll after landing is, though, and that's where you can outsmart this hole. It's a difficult shot but hugely rewarding. :-)
