garyk49: I don't get out on the course as often as I might like, but, without them I would have to totally give up the game. No way anymore could I walk a course.
Great for folks who need 'em. Ticks me off is the able-bodied youngsters driving around in a golf cart b/c they're too lazy to walk. At which rate they won't be able-bodied for long.
The best golf clubs also seem to encourage walking (for example allowing carts only with a doctor's certificate or for those over 80), while courses that - mind-bogglingly - *require* players to use carts just regard them as a cash cow. They're cart-rental centres with a golf course attached as an afterthought.
