I had the pleasure of going golfing with some friends on 9-10 June to a place that is near my home and yet I had no idea it existed. Sherwood golf and Country Club, in Sherwood Forest?....possibly.  :)

Tucked away off of a small highway with giant Chalet's. It is no Pebble Beach or Shinnecock Hills but I thought I would get some pictures of the course at any rate.

    Hope you like them.

Scenic until it comes to that golf cart. Ugh! A pestilence on this beautiful game.

I don't get out on the course as often as I might like, but, without them I would have to totally give up the game.  No way anymore could I walk a course.

I'm with Gary on this one, Zag. Old man golf begins with being able to get around and the knees demand a ride. LOL

    Pics look good, Paul.  :-)

Great for folks who need 'em. Ticks me off is the able-bodied youngsters driving around in a golf cart b/c they're too lazy to walk. At which rate they won't be able-bodied for long.

The best golf clubs also seem to encourage walking (for example allowing carts only with a doctor's certificate or for those over 80), while courses that - mind-bogglingly - *require* players to use carts just regard them as a cash cow. They're cart-rental centres with a golf course attached as an afterthought.

    Cheers,

    Zag

Just like the kids that come into our Walmart and jump on the electric carts instead of walking. And  we only have 12 or so and to see  5 or 6 teenagers come in and grab them when there are older people with mobility issues not able to get 1 really ticks me ioff.

Thank you folks very much. I had major surgery at the end of March, 23 staples total. I’m still recovering but at my age I am probably going to elect to take a cart out for 18 holes. :)

l  wanted to have something in the foreground for that one shot but might have been able to find something better than a golf cart but we don’t have any palm trees up here :)
