Hi guys, I have been playing this game for some weeks now and the progress was good and slowly I had the feeling I got better.

Suddenly I reached the master level (a bit too quick for my feeling) and since than everything looks bad. I can't get the right scores. Ease bogeys etc.etc. I am getting higher scores than at tour pro level. Everything looks harder, the green sloops are worse and par putts are hard.

Do you guys have ideas how to improve my game? For now I have the feeling everything looks more random. Than I overshoot with 10 yards and than I come 10 yards short with the same wind and the same distance.

    Thanks for any advise!

That's part of the learning curve. You play from tees that are farther back, and the greens are faster. One thing I would recommend is make sure you're always using the same ball and "mapping" how far your shots go. There are ways to officially map how far each club goes, but you can also slowly dial them in, paying attention to how far they go on each shot. Adding spin or hitting from a tee will change the distances. I find that missing the ding also has a greater impact as you advance in tiers.

At L59, I recommend purchasing the Ping G25 irons. They are the first irons with a high trajectory and will make a big difference in getting the ball to stop on the greens. Other than that, practice, practice, practice. You're doing well so far...keep it up.

My congrats to your promotion, and the company certainly appreciates your need for better stuff!

Track length changes, and the game's conditions may change, but the green speed stays "very fast", as for Tour Pros. But, due to the longer approach shots, the balls will roll more on the greens...

"Random shot lengths" have been reported for a while - they may or may not be part of the "advanced" gaming experience (depending on the efficiency of your
    tin foil hat).

Having said that, the best hint may be "practice, practice, practice!", and include shot management.

Also, you might consider to change your ball if you dare to leave the costly "low level, slow meter" track: The L11 Srixon has slightly better dots at a considerably lower price, and the L33 Callaway is much better while still less expensive. You might also try out the various WGT balls...

Next stop at the Pro shop: Wedges and (perhaps) a driver - L48 is promising while L46, L50, L58 keep to the budget.

    And, most important: Have fun!

Only thing I can add to the above is that we've all been there, and most survived. It's a new game with every promotion...but just wait for Legend lol.

I had the same feelin when I hit Legend, made me stop playing for nearly a year. Just now gettIng back in it, and putting a lot of time in practice. Yes, mapping clubs, and the ball helps quite a bit..Good Luck.

    VatosLocosRoffa:

and the progress was good and slowly I had the feeling I got better.

Suddenly I reached the master level (a bit too quick for my feeling) and since than everything looks bad

I know exactly how you feel - and it's not great!  I had just upgraded to a better set of irons, wedges, and balls to get better spin and more distance (while at Tour Pro) and my average was still about 69 so I figured I had several weeks to dial in the new combination of clubs and balls before my average could possibly drop to 67.  Suddenly then I was tiered up to Master (average still about 69) and everything got harder.

I had to spend several hours and about a sleeve of the balls I had picked (Cally Chrome Soft L43) mapping the club/ball combo.  To do that I went to Kiawah Island #1 in Practice mode and hit every club (100% meter) from the tee (Driver down to the PW) until I got at least three dings - and then I recorded the carry and total distance for each.  I did this for no spin and for full backspin for each one.  Had to keep taking mulligans (which doubles your hit count) to do this, but it will pay off.  Then I hit the ball to where it was just barely past the initial sand on the fairway and repeated the process from the fairway for every club except the driver - again with 3 dings each and with zero and full backspin, recording every carry and total.  All this gave me a table of distances to use from the tee and from the fairway with or without backspin.  Trust me - distances off the tee and from the fairway differ!

If your balls and clubs do not have a good spin attribute, then you can skip full backspin since it will not matter.

This is a good start for basic play, but eventually you will need to do the same for the various clubs and lies in rough and in bunkers!  It is very time-consuming and costs several sleeves of balls!

Before you do the above, decide on what ball and what irons and wedges you will be using for quite some time.  Wait until you can get a good combo that you can play for a long time, since you will need to repeat this process when you make any significant changes to clubs and/or balls!

Keep at it - it gets better.

Sometimes I just get on a course and whack the ball around just using "feeling" (like a spidey-sense!) and play fast and see how it goes.  I find this relaxing rather than worrying about exacting calculations for distance and direction, even for putting.  Sometimes I surprise myself by doing better when I just play for fun and play relatively fast!

WOW....I've been experiencing the same thing! Nothing is consistent on short shots or putting. Glad I'm not the only one. I thought it was the games way of encouraging me to buy new clubs? And it sounds like that would help. Thanks...
