Far as I can tell, in WGT the bunkers are rated by the texture of the sand in them, not the way you land in them. In other words, bunkers at Bethpage and Kiawah tend to always be 15/20, most other courses 30/40, all the time. Not realistic, but hey.
It would not seem too difficult for WGT to add some variety in this respect, with your odds of getting a plugged lie increasing depending on the trajectory. If the ball bombed directly into the sand, you might for example have a 30% chance of having a lie that is 60/70% buried, while if the ball rolled into the sand you might have a 40% chance of a 5/10% lie and a 50% chance of 15/20% lie, and a 10% chance of a 30/40% lie.
This would be different for Kiawah, which has hard sand where it is unlikely you would get a plugged lie.
