You need to be more specific GR as not all of us play on both platforms (mobile & desktop).
If you are referring to this on the mobile version of the game, then it is the ball effects option. Click on it to add a 'vapour trail' effect to your ball. It's easily removed again so don't worry about clicking on it (prodding it?).
