I read a lot of posts on here where people talk about missing a shot by a pixel or two. I would like for someone to explain to me what, exactly is the size of a pixel. Would really like a serious answer to this question.      Thanks

A pixel is actually it is the smallest amount that you can miss the ding bar by. You know the kind, the meter is on the ding bar but not dead center giving the ding sound and saying excellent. Some call it a near ding.

The serious answer is that it is a relative and not an absolute value. The actual size will depend on your screen size and resolution.

For example if you have say  a 20inch wide monitor and are in fullscreen mode.

If your screen resolution is 800 x 600 then you will actually be looking at 800 pixels across 20 inches: pixel  = 1/40 inch.

If your screen resolution is 1280 x 960 then you will actually be looking at 1280 pixels across 20 inches; pixel  = 1/64 inch.

    etc...

Yes sir you are exactly right. I just found a pixel calculator online.http://axofiber.no-ip.org/inside/pixel.size.en.htm      This is what I found

My resolution is 1280X800  My laptop monitor is 14"

1280X14"=17,920 pixels across 14"  or 1/97 inch per pixel

The 1280 resolution being pixels per inch.

In simpler terms, the letter below is 1 pixel wide.
