I can't see why either of those suggestions wouldn't work. There are 11 full courses plus the best ofs, so they could just go from one to the next for each 4 hour block. I reckon more players would participate in the Clash if they knew they were getting to play a different course each 4 hours.

And the prize situation could definitely be improved. Doesn't 4th to 50th get the same prize? Doesn't make sense to me.

    Nancy1959:
I am going to reiterate an old theme here that both of these things really need to change.

I changed these issues myself. If I want to play in the clash I will join a club as a "guest for the clash only" like I did in clash 104. Join a club and play what I want in the clash and then leave the club, all with the clubs owner being aware of what my intentions are. This way I don't have to worry about the "prizes" and who gets what.

    Nancy1959:
he ridiculous prizes (particularly for CC's that finish outside of first place).  Really, a dozen golf balls to just one of about 200 members for second place, a half dozen golf balls for third place, and nothing worthwhile for the rest of the country clubs?

I'd like to also offer my congratulations to all the members of The Penalty Box, they've battled tirelessly against us clash after clash despite being a bit smaller in terms of membership.

Course draw or not they battled their butts off and in the end put up what I believe is a WGT Clash record 418,939 points, shattering Bro's previous best of 412,874 set back in clash 97. That's no fluke.

What a battle! Congratulations from myself and on behalf of BRO CC.

We look forward to battling with everyone again in a couple weeks!

    Congrats to The Penalty Box!

It was pretty tough for us at Bro to keep up, we got Congressional 5 times and WC only once.  These were the courses Bro and TPB played each round with Bro leading by 20,000 after round 7, tough course draws on the last 4 for us at Bro.

    Steve

Yep, you were up 20,000 after their 3 Merion rounds, and then you got Merion.  Really makes a difference.

     I

Not taking away from how hard TPB played, but I think you missed the point. We had Congressional(the lowest clash scoring course of all 4 courses) 5 times. TPB Had Wolf Creek(The highest clash scoring course of all 4 courses) 5 times. We got Wolf only once, and they got Congressional only once. It's a really lopsided draw. we both had Merion, and Pebble equal times. it wasn't just a case of we got Merion, and that's why it evened out.

    just my 2 cents

    Fair 2 cents.

This is why AKD started this ongoing thread several months ago and I have been participating in it faithfully.

Black Diamond GC has been on bad and good side of course draws.  There's no conspiracy here, but I still don't understand why it can't be evened out.

Forget #1 and 2.  Most of us are not competing for that.  But it can make a difference between 33rd and 43rd, or 48th and 68th.

    Tom.

I agree, very honorable and great sportsmanship. Thank you for the congratulatory message. It was a well fought and very exciting battle. Much respect to you and BroCC for the incredible amout of consecutive clash victories, very impressive dedication and team work. We are looking forward to 105.
