Sounds like a mouse problem. Can you change clubs, shots, etc.?

I don't know if this is of any help, I had much the same problem. I found that when using a wireless router, and wireless mouse the signals would conflict with each other.  Sounds much like what you are encountering, my meter would activate/swing without even touching the mouse.  A process of elimination showed where my problem was. First I went to the wired mouse and found thing to have improved, then I did away with the wireless router and found I could still use the wireless mouse. Simple fix, for me, Hope this helps some.

Try another USB port if you have one. Also, you can delete your mouse, restart and have Windows automatically reinstall it. This eliminates the mouse or drivers as the cause.
