We largely agree Alosso. I will add some context as this is an important point.
The main focus of the club is to help the members improve. And we do that in many ways. Lots of advice in the CC forums, some very good tournaments, some good communication between the members and the occasional head to head games.
On the tournaments we aim for 15 live tournaments covering all aspects of the game. This helps the members improve each part of their game and also maximise their XP when levelling up. We are certainly not frightened of high wind or 13 speed greens either. After all, you need to understand those well to improve and our members are improving a lot from these. There are of course easier setups too. 30mph winds on 13s might be my default setting but we know its sometimes more fun to have a setup that will yield lower scores so we balance that with some easier and medium difficulty ones.
We don't aim to be a top TW or Clash club and we won't chase that. But we are able to be competitive, and sometimes very successful indeed for a club our size simply by good strategy in clash or through quality of play in the upper rooms of a TW combined with having a fully active membership. The members absolutely enjoy beating much bigger clubs through the skills and strategy they have learned and developed rather than through simply spending big $. And that's an important distinction.
We think there's something here for everyone (except perhaps a golden putter or a 50bn coin balance, lol) and we are always looking to do things better too so listen to the members. A few more players at the top end would increase the speed of learning but all active players that are keen to learn are welcomed.
Give us a try!
