Maybe you have you got Firefox set to open multiple tabs on start up with one of those tabs opening the WGT handler.
Check... settings > home
If there is 'Restore Defaults' button on that page then you have some custom settings. Maybe click the 'Restore Defaults' button if you have not invested a lot of time in customizing that page.
