    you basically install and play WGT through Steam store.

    https://store.steampowered.com/about/

    You install Steam app and search for WGT to install and open the app from there.

    Tried uninstall with different apps (included the one Scott suggested) but none working so far for me. Issue still persists.

    Well, it is March 8th and the problem still happens. It just happened to me today. I emailed WGT and waiting for their reply. Now using Steam to play WGT.

    I have yet to have WGT tech support ever resolve issues that I've submitted years ago.  Every time they do another update, some other glitch occurs, at least on Mac computers.  This is just the latest one.  And, why isn't the issue posted anywhere on the site or sent to our WGT inbox?  Is anyone from WGT monitoring these "Help" forums?

    For the past two months following a WGT update, the game's resolution changes after I sign out.  I have to go into the game settings and reset it to 1920 x1080.  I brought this to their attention two months ago and received a reply saying they've heard the same thing from other users and that they're looking into it.  Never heard another word and the problem persists.

    I can also never see the end chats at the end of a match such as "GG" or "Nice game."  I'll get the message indicator saying "1" and when I click on to see the message it says that the user is no longer in the chat room.  So, it's basically impossible to see the opponent's final message. 

    It's a great game, but still very frustrating because tech support is not helpful or communicative.

    I had similar issues, only with a different resolution. Managed to fix it by following advice from Yiannis, who is a very tech savvy and most helpful person. All I had to do was to change my monitor resolution to the same one I had in the game. If they are not the same, your computer tends to want to change your game setting to what the monitor settings are. Had to get used to having a black vertical stripe on both sides of my monitor, but never ever had the game change its resolution since and it's been a year and a half.

    The reason you can't see a message is because the opponent didn't write it. That one (1) you see in the chat box represents the game's message saying your opponent had left. If they had written anything before they left, the message count would've said 2. And if they had written something and were still around, the counter would say 1 and you'd be able to see it.

    Since Last WGT update, my Mac Laptop w/M2 chip and the very latest IO update will not open.!st window says 1)Checking for Launcher update 2) States a Launcher update is available and then 3) System IO.IOException.not a directory. Have talked to Apple and they have uninstalled and re-installed several times only to get same message.Several people having same issues on your forum site and no one seems to have gotten a response .I have played this game for 10 years and your customer service is getting worse, not better. Waiting for a response. This is beyond ridiculous.

    Got this response a few moment from WGT

    "Please delete the WGT App from your Mac and then use the link here: https://m.wgt.com/install to download the Mac version of the game by selecting the Play on Mac button and not the App Store button. Once the DMG is downloaded, open it and then drag the WGT App to your Applications folder and then unmount the DMG. You would then launch the game from your Applications Folder."

    I did this a number of times, even went as far as upgraded from Monterey to Sequoia but still the same issue. WGT must have fired the wrong guy and messed up --'

    I did the exact same thing the very first day.  No go. 

     

    I've been trying to get them to resolve a chat issue that's been going on for over two years.  At the end of a match, I often get notified that there is a "1" in the chat bubble indicating a final msg. from my opponent which would normally be along the lines of "gg"  "Nice Game" msg.

     

    99% of the time, I will click to see the message and there is no new msg.  It says the opponent is no longer in the chat room. The previous chat msgs. between me and the opponent are there, but not the most recent one at the end of the match.

    Why would the opponent's chat msg. not be displayed if I can see the previous chat msgs. we had exchanged regardless of whether the opponent left the chat room.  He had obviously sent me the msg. BEFORE leaving the chat room.

    WGT sends me an email after I inquire about it stating "we'll look into it" and they have never followed up.  I've probably sent 6 messages over the past two years about it.  No resolution.
