I've got two things going on in tandem, that I can't seem to properly identify.

I have run out of hard drive space - down to zero - and I've been playing a lot of WGT for the past couple of months.

I was out of HD space 2 days ago, so I did some moves, and freed up 10 gig.  Basically my iTunes library.

I don't have a virus, at least I can't find one, and I always run AV software and don't have any irregular events happening.

I don't have ANY files that have changed in the past month.  Right?

When I moved my iTunes Friday night, I went to bed with about 9gig free.  Got up in the morning, 9 gig free.  Played WGT all day - now I have 5 gig free.  No files have changed.  4 gig is gone, and I have no large files except for the ones I had last week.

    Is anybody familiar with this?

    Ron

Why not buy an external hard drive, they're very cheap these days. Sorry I can't help with the gig problem.

I've got a 1 TB external....  If I don't have any new files, and only a couple gigs of large files on a 110 gig C: drive, how do I make the external help me?

As I said, I did nothing but WGT yesterday, and lost 4 gig....  and can't find out how.

I've had root kit virus's on another machine a few years back - I would know if I had something that was dodging my antivirus protection.

    Hi

The files are actually changed. it's called your browsers temporal directory. It may house as much as 50gb, depending on your setting, how often you clear it, and few other things.

We preload many things to expedite the loading process, so this is normal.

Ok, awesome, now I'm getting to solution point....  I installed Chrome a few months back, begrudgingly, but actually like it and burned firefox off the systme after a month or so.

My D: drive is a physical second drive with about 75 gig free...  Can I move Chrome, or will I have to delete and reinstall it over there?

I actually thought I dumped my cache of everything but cookies - is there something I can do to clear this besides clearing browsing data?  I keep my cookies and passwords, but this can't be of much size.

I guess I'm not sure what temporal files encompasses.

Thanks so much for the help.

I'm going to try moving them and installing a junction and see if that changes anything

Generally, no, the temp files/etc will reside in your system drive. However, you can reinstall other apps/games to your 2nd drive, thus freebing up space on  c:\
