Thanks as always everyone.... I think I am going to pick up, the Ping Tour W 60 degree LVL 42.... Then I will wait til rental day to find a putter... As for new irons, I will also build up credits, and wait for maybe the G20's..... Well, off to buy my new wedge, and hey maybe even a sleeve of new balls. Thanks again, and shoot'em straight :)

I agree with Leon, try not to buy something that will have to be replaced soon anyway.  I'd wait for L55, get the Daytona, then L58 for the G20 driver and L59 for the G20 irons.  The putter can stay in your bag forever, the irons and driver will see you through to legend and the top R11 gear.

You're very close to all the top Rapture clubs now which is very tempting as they're brilliant.  Easy to hit and so forgiving.  If you have credits to throw around by all means go for them but you'll need something better in the near future so you'd lose a fair bit on them.

It may seem a long way to L59 but it doesn't take long if you get the daily bonus every day.  Remember you can get it for just playing one hole.

Ty for this interesting and clear statement, Mainz.

I'm looking at those "easy" Raptures - when would I have to replace them?

    Master? Tour Master?

ty lonnie, though you didn't really answer my question :o)

Today, I don't aim at becoming a legend; I'd rather take a ball from my pocket and tee it up for real. Summer will come eventually!

Meanwhile, I might have a look at becoming a Master without much cash (the whole "get free credits" thing doesn't work here).

My question is, what will I miss, when will I have to change again if I buy the "easy" Rapture clubs?

The Raptures should get you to tour master but you'll have trouble holding the greens with them after that.  When you are playing long irons into the green the Raptures don't fly the ball high enough or generate enough spin to stop quickly.

I suggested them because the OP's level is almost high enough to get them so they'd be a quick fix for lower scores, plus they really are nice clubs.  The downsides are the lack of elevation and spin, plus the slow meter won't prepare you for the clubs you will need if you want to compete as a tour master and beyond.  It looks as though the forthcoming higher level G20 irons might have a nice slow meter though so the jump wouldn't be so great.

To answer this, you'll miss being able to stop the ball dead upon landing.  Either you'll have to figure in the roll after landing or learn to putt great.

You'd likely have to upgrade when you reach tour master.  It isn't essential though, there are legends who got there with Raptures.

If you're really just playing to have fun and aren't interested in reaching legend in a hurry you could play the Raptures forever.  I rented them when we had the last free rental weekend and it was great to play them again after so long.  In all honesty I think I enjoyed WGT most during the time I played with those clubs, it seemed a lot more fun back then.

If you want to be more competitive then the G20 are going to be a better bet.

    Ty again Mainz!

Being able to stop a ball is crucial in this game. With my Starter clubs & Starter balls, I cannot compete at all in the CTTH comps...
