What about a try before you buy trial period feature that makes sense?

This would alleviate the waiting for those players who either missed or can't wait for another Free Rental day.

Players could try out clubs/sets by adding them to their bag and using for a week or so.  At the end of this period, the player would have to purchase at least one of the clubs/sets from which they were trying out.

For example, a player could try-out over the period of a week Taylor Made R11, Taylor Made R9 & PING or any other drivers available at their level.  During the try-out period, the player merely equips their bag with whichever driver they want to play with.  At the end of the trial the player is responsible for buying at least one of the drivers they had under trial.

In order to prevent players from just trying the clubs with no intent on buying, the player would have to reserve a minimum amount of money on account with WGT (the amount of the lowest priced club/set they wish to trial) that they must apply to a purchase or forfeit it.

Players could also try-out more than one type of club/set during the same period or even overlapping.  While starting a one week trial today with the drivers mentioned above, the player could also start another trial for several wedges during this same period.  Furthermore, a few days from now, the player could start another trial to check-out some putters.

For each trial, the player must reserve to WGT at a minimum, the amount of the lowest priced club/set.  If a player has 4 trials underway at the same time or overlapping each other, it doesn't matter, they will have had to reserve four minimum amounts with the WGT and are committed to buying at least one club/set from each four trials.

To further prevent players from abusing the minimum amount on reserve, all clubs/sets would have to be within a certain range of each other.  For example, a player couldn't add a very low cost club/set to a trial where every other club/set was of a much higher value.  You couldn't try a 100 credit club along with three 600 credit clubs just so you have a cheap out in case you don't like the expensive clubs you were trying out.

This might actually encourage more players to play with better clubs ... and that can't be bad for WGT because doesn't it go "the better the club the mo'money they make?"

But then again, what do I know.
