Has anybody tried the TaylorMade Rocketballz 3 Fairway Wood (L69+)?

I'm undecided between it and the Ping G20 3 Fairway Wood 14° (L58+)

    Thanks E1......Bob.

Yes I tried the Rocketballz during free rental period. I tried all the clubs and I liked the Ping best. Just my opinion. thanks

Edit: I liked the higher trajectory of the Ping & the faster meter. I found that the Ping, with the higher trajectory, could get it up & on more consistantly.

Hi Bob............YES, I have had my TaylorMade Rocketballz 3 Fairway Wooe (L69+) for a couple of weeks now.  With zero wind.....it shows it hits 240 yards.

This 3 Wood has been a HUGE help to me......got me in position to make a LOT of birdies on holes that I just NEVER would have made without this fairway 3 wood.  This fairway wood was actually "gifted" to me by one of my WGT friends......and I returned the favor........but, I wouldn't have known how really GREAT this 3 wood was, had it not been "gifted" to me.

And one of my WGT friends (was kind enough to give me a 64 wedge).......Wow, that wedge is SUPER.  I've been able to stick the ball just a foot or two from the holes many times........just the right club when I needed it.  If you don't have this 64 wedge, I HIGHLY recommend it.

    Good Luck!

    Bob

Thank you BC and Bob for your replies.  I had considered the trajectory of the Ping but also the length of the Rocketballz which you both have confirmed for me......so I'm still undecided, lol.  I have to go for one though, but I think I'll wait till I have some more credits.

I may have enough but don't want to empty my purse altogether.....

I would like to get a new set of irons and a driver as well so I'll maybe wait a week or so.

I too just bought the 64 wedge with the plan to ditch my starter hybrid and get a new driver and wood (this following the many suggestions on here). I concur with your comments on it Bob....a must have in any bag I would think.

My thanks again for your comments.......Bob.

I use the R11 three wood and it is a very good club.

Even if something else a little better comes along I don't think I would upgrade.  The three wood is hit so rarely in a round of WGT that a few extra yards on it wont' do much for me.  I would take it out for another wedge but there are times when you need the extra 15 yards to reach a par 5 that the 3 iron won't get too.

I do feel like rocketballz3w is everybit as long or longer than the r11 3w. The trajectory isnt as good from legend tees on holes like ccc 2. Doesnt stop as well.

Thank you.......but as I'm only level 69, would the TaylorMade R11 3 Wood (L30+) be better than the G20 3 Fairway Wood 14° (L58+) given the arguments in forums regarding R11 and Ping? I was thinking on the G20 myself....but any advice welcome.....

    Many thanks .....Bob.

From paper form (pro shop comparison) there seems no substancial difference between the two:

Equal in high trajectory (good) and spin, distance only 8 yds apart, advantage R11 concerning forgiveness, advantage G20 concerning meter speed. The G20 is 100 cr more.

My intuition gives the G20 an advantage because of the higher release level, but that's only a feeling.

Take the lvl 69 Rocketballz into the comparison, it's another 100 cr more, only med trajectory (bad), mere 5 yds longer and no further substancial advantage to the others - not a club that I'd chose.

OTOH, there is the lvl 68 i15 3WD with good price&numbers, yet a fast meter. If you can handle it it might be the best in the comparison.
