I think all the DE trophies were handed out a long time ago.

Shame, that OP needs to be updated.

Someone should take this idea and create a new thread and update the stats

I see that according to Columbiacgt's score history, he hasn't played since June of 2012. If no one has any objections, I may take over what he was doing. With google docs I could make a couple links to show all the stats that he had going. I will use the same rules and format he had. But I will have to try and figure out how he did the Trophy. Stay tuned. I will wait to see if there are any objections.

No objections here, jc, by all means, do it. I like to think that my first DE is inevitable and would like to see my name up in lights with all the other cats who done it. Matter of fact, the rare shots where I come within inches to one are about the only ones I save anymore so I want one...bad.

While I agree that Players that score double eagles should be recognized for their achievement ,I also fee that Columbia's wishes that the club he created and worked hard to update have only 99 members be honored. It is perfectly within your rights to start a new club for those players who scored their double eagle after Colubiacgt stopped accepting members. But you should use another name and create your own trophy.

One reason he stated that he would only accept 99 members was that in his opinion the newer longer more accurate clubs and the shorter easier to reach par 5's on Cabo and Whistler was making it too easy to make a double eagle.Quite a few of the earlier DE's were scored when the longest driver was only around  270 yards and longest 3 wood was only 230 yards and the best ball was the WGT Tour GI-SD ball.

I seem to remember also that he would not accept any double eagle scored on either Cabo or Whistler.

Thanks for the Info Sting. I had gone through all the pages on this thread after my first post. It really gave me some insight as to how Columbia ran it. And I agree totally with how he did it. And I read about what he said about the first 99 and respect that also. Which is why, if I do this, I will start another thread, with a link to it from this one and call it the Double Eagle Club II. I would do this by using Google Docs. I have copied Columbia's list and transferred it to Google docs. Here is the link. I want to respect his wishes for the first 99, so I have some work to do still on that, to make sure I have the correct first 99 and the order. Problem right now is, his last update, with the unknown's, brings the count to 94 Double Eagles. As I said, I have looked back on all the pages and I have seen your name come up a lot Borntobesting(gonna call you sting now, cause that's a long name to type. lol), and I really respect your opinion from what I've seen. So look over what I've proposed here and the Doc and tell me what you think. Maybe you think I should use another name for the thread. Let me know if you have any ideas. I've been in contact with Bolloxinbruges about my idea since he was named as President for Columbia's DEC. He was fine with my proposal.

I'm still a little undecided whether I want to do this, since I looked at all the pages. For one, it's gonna be a lot of work to go through all the pages and add on all the Double Eagles since the first 99. I would imagine a lot of them don't have the proof or replays anymore and it will piss a lot of them off if they don't make the club because of that now. Plus I see it was a fight with some of them because of some of the rules.

I could really use some more help with this, like Columbia had. For deciding if a candidate has the proper information submitted. Sting, I was going to send you a friend invite and ask you if you wanted to be the President of this new club when I made my decision to do this or not. But I'll ask now, if you would want to do it? I will send you a friend invite anyway, so we can discuss this in private. Anyone else interested in helping, let me know.

Harrybr549, you sent me an invite and I didn't know who you were until now and had declined already. But will resend a friend invite to you, to see what you had in mind. The trophy you made is real nice. It has all the info I would like to see on it except the order sequence that Columbia use to use. But I would really like to stay with a pic of 2 eagles, but a different picture than the one Columbia used. I was in the Army and even before that, have always admired Eagles. So would like to stay with tradition of that pic. Would love your help on that Harry.

    Thanks for your input guys.

Lucky as well, but I was fortunate to make one on Bethpage Black Hole 13.  It is in my stats and I hope this replay link works.  Thanks!

    JCGfree....

This is always a mixed bag.  The original intent was to recognize the double eagle but then leave out a few courses, only let the first 99 in, etc.

Frankly if you start to pick and choose this will never be done.   Why not make it so it has to be a ranked round from the Legend tees, why not eliminate the short par fours at STA, why not only Legends, etc.             In my mind if WGT recognizes it as a double eagle then that is good enough for me, if not then it shouldn't be recognized.

I've always thought of a double eagle as a 2 on a par five.  I realize a 1 on a par four is technically a double eagle but I have only heard it referred to as a hole in one in real golf talk.  Sort of like a hole in one on a par 3, you don't call that an eagle.

Since I have no qualifications to join the club I have no prejudice of anyone but only my two cents.  Let the WGT record show what it is and use that.  I would also suggest that  if you want to found a new club, then just ask people who have made double eagle to repost to a new thread and I 'm sure you will get everyone posting.
