Got my second double eagle last night. Kiawah #2 in the Ketel Cup. Replay is on my profile, and stats page confirms it. It's also my longest holed approach shot...a whopping 125 yards! woohoo....lol
Almost feels more like an eagle than a double, but the stats page says otherwise. And hey, who am I to argue, right? Besides, getting your drive to end up 125 yds out on that particular hole isn't exactly the easiest thing in the world.
On the next hole I left a flop 2 inches short of the hole for eagle (would have been -6 after 3 if that one went).
On #11 my second shot ran over the edge of the cup and 6 feet past, thus avoiding the inevitable stigma of being the first(?) to get 2 double eagles in the same round.
On #8 my ball stopped 8 inches short of a hole in one (almost a virtual version of the late, great John Wooden's real-life accomplishment of a double and a hole in one in the same round!).
Apparently the irons were working for me yesterday. Too bad the putter had most of the night off....
