I think we are getting to an element that no other game has ever offered.  Player response.   Every game is line up, change club, adjust spin, hit.  I would love a game to add player reaction and caddy reaction "great shot" "you know this putt" "thats not a bad spot to leave your shot", "double farts" "spaulding get your foot off the boat", sorry got carried away.

That would mean sound needs to be added to aspects of the game that are not present.

Great idea but I'm afraid any elements like that would continue degradation on the meter for many of us.  Every update since last October that has added these things have created more and more issues for many systems' ability to process.  Maybe when Flash becomes a bit more robust and ALL player systems could handle more functions added to the game, then absolutely with you.

Wouldn't even mind a button to hit when playing against close friends with the sound of the dude Shooter McGavin hired in Happy Gilmore...."You will not make this putt....JACKASS!"  Probably wouldn't win many people over in MP against strangers though.  :)

My Father likes to tell an old story about former US Open champ Tommy Bolt who was tops in the art of club throwing. Playing in a tournament, he reached the 17th hole, a 215 yard par 3 and his caddy handed him a PW. Tommy said "son, are you crazy? I've got a 215 yard shot here!" the caddy said "I know Mr. Bolt, but it's the only club you have left."

Ah the old club throw.  I can tell you I have never thrown a club more than 3 ft on purpose.  But one rainy day in Syracuse I had a 185 to the pin on a par 3, my club grips offer pretty much the most grip besides full cord, but on this day nothing would have kept my 6 iron in hand.  I hit a normally very high draw, but on this swing I tried for a straight path, well, shot executed, the ball landed and checked with 7ft of the hole, my 6 iron landed about 20 yards from the green as well.  Probably one of the funnier things to see a perfect shot rising through the air, with a 6iron chasing it.  To this day I was amazed at how far the 6 iron went.

jakestan, great point.  Anything like what we are discussing will only cause flash issues.  Guess thats why I have turned all but the basics off in the menu, flash seems to work with fewer issues when you have the water effects turned off, and the putting grid turned off after the putt is rolled.
