I love them, but I am not good enough to play and type. Type, where I live, what I do, how old I am, what food I like, do I have a boyfriend, so forth and so on...I am not good enough to play here while I give a bio. I wish we had a lamp that indicated a quiet type of player that wants to play without any chat beyond acknowledgement and good manners.

Its funny, I have seen a couple other people mostly say the same thing, or even ask for an option to turn the chat off.

So I'm wondering, if there is no chat, why the hell bother playing with another player or two or three?   All you do is make your game take WAY longer and for what, just to watch them?

I guess but the biggest reason I play any multiplayer at all is mostly to chat and I'm sure that is the majority of players, or to challenge someone and I guess there I could see the reason to not have the chat.  Its true that my game is mostly not as good, but then as I said I do it for the camaraderie, when I want to play my best I take my time in the single player mode.

Just my 2 cents, playing multiplayer with no chat would bore me to tears, wouldn't bother I'm sure.

I hear ya SP.I only play multi player with my father and our RL golf buddy and we use chat but i don't want to play and have to type and read.I guess you could call me lazy but i would rather just play and put in nice shot every once in a while! i wish they would put in an ingame chat option and that would work for me.

Ahh but you never answered the question I put forth.

If you like to play and not chat, why play multiplayer at all, to merely watch?

ill play multiplayer often, not to compete or chat, but mainly  to see the other persons shot and get an idea of what ill need to do. if you see someone go short or long,... well no rocket science needed here. ns ty :)

there is a pretty big group of people that play while chatting on skype.  Those of us who do not like to take the time and effort to type, skype makes it great and i feel adds a lot to the game.  It is a lot more like a trip to the golf course with friends.  in fact a lot of us have become good friends and we usually only play with people who have skype to avoid having to type. I know you are talking about not chatting at all SP, but just thought i would throw it out there for those who just hate the typing aspect of the game

Multi-Player mode brings out the social aspect of the game.  I am a social person....I like to find out a little about who i am playing with. When i am playing real golf, it is no different.  Imagine playing a real round of golf with someone who never spoke and just hit shot after shot....pretty cold and not much fun.

This is what makes it fun and a welcome change from playing by myself.  I have played other golf games with AI players......not nearly as much fun as playing with a real, live, breathing human being.

Oh......and i never read in my back swing!

Sorry SP, I realise I am probably one of the worst offenders at yacking unnecessarily during games. However, for me like others the idea of playing multiplayer games in silence does not appeal - and on the odd occasion I have been in a silent 4 ball it is like slow torture. Golf is a social game with time to chat between shots, particularly if you are with friends. I am sure if you explained that you would rather concentrate on your game at the beginning most people would respect that (even if most like me would struggle at the concept lol)
