  I have days dont like to talk.But have made some friends that enjoy the banter back and fourth.I hate to say it but because of your name and or pic. guys want to chat with  you. If you ignor them on chat other than gs,gb and so on they will get hind.When they ask about you just dont answer.But a no chat button would be nice because seens they do it in your swing.  lol  Goood Luck on coarse.

  Just something to consider... some of my biggest epiphanies about how to play have come from multi-player games with other players (and not just the really good ones).  So while it may be mostly "Hi, how's the weather..." "where r u from" small talk, try not to deprive yourself of some of the real gems that come out of the chat.  Sure you may not play as well as you usually do, but it will make up for it in the long run.

  I like to chat, but I also like to keep it low sometimes especially if I am trying to win against a tough opponent.  Good shot, nice bird, nb, nice out, gg, are sometimes my only response, but others, mostly with friends I like to chat it up.

  As Spider stated above, considering your screen name and avatar photo, I think you are being naive in wondering why players wish to seek you out and chat you up.  I believe you already know this though.

  Those who like to chat...chat! Those who do not like to chat.... don't! I, for one, find it hard to chat when all your players disconnect! So I chat with myself!

  In another thread, I argued that typing during play can be more relaxing than actually talking during play (using Skype).

  If Ms. SweetiePie finds typed chat sometimes too intrusive, it would be doubly so if using Skype.

  The good thing about typed chat is that you can just ignore it.

  In order to be able to play & type-chat effortlessly, it's of course also highly recommended to be able to touch-type (without looking at the keyboard), which is a skill that anyone can master within several months. The skill will then translate into lots of saved time throughout the rest of your computer-driven life.

  I jist tride too type witout looking and it desnt work to good. Think I'll stick to the trusted Hunt and Peck system. Besides, my finger that I ran into my tablesaw doesn't bend too good any more and it's crucial to the key with the bump on it that tells you you're on the home key.  :-(

  I sorta agree with Miss Pie. I am usually quiet and give the usual nb, ty etc.. but try not to do it ad nauseum. I prefer it this way..it's just the way I'm put together. I do believe I play a bit better when in multi although I don't have a competitive bone in my body. I've always played sport for excercise and fun. When it becomes all about winning, it loses its luster for me.
