I just want to say that I'm thrilled to see the opening play of the Olympic Club course on this site! A most pleasant change of pace from the existing courses we've been dealing with!
My idea of Oakmont being the most difficult for me, has now switched to this US Open venue,....most difficult??..Yes,...but I must say it;s a challenge I except most heartily......brings to mind the actual challenges the real game of golf brings! The many nuances the course has must be dealt with and adjusting to them is a requirement without a doubt!
After 3 days of playing...I notice that many players feel as I do, but as a consequence I'm finding it hard to get players to participate in stroke , match and skins games,...I can well understand a player's reticence,.....but for me,..I'll still take my licks, trying to get the hang of it!....So kick the ego aside duffers....and take on a challenge! Happy gaming!!
