From the white tees on Bethpage Black, hole 4 is 461 yards, par 5 yet hole 7 is 502 yards yet only a par 4.  Does anyone have an explanation for why #7 isn't a par 5?

The par for Bethpage Black is set to match how the course was set-up for the U.S. Open They played # 4 as a par 5 but played #7 as a par 4. Both are par 5's for normal play in real life but WGT chose to set it up like The USGA did for the open.

Bethpage Black in reality is one of the hardest courses to play anywhere in the country. The virtual version we play in no way represents how difficult this course really is. Holes #7,13, 15 keeps the scores in check.

Excuse me for posting as a reply on your post - but I am still unable to make my own posts on here... Seems there's tiers for posting as well as the golf!?

Anyway, I'm needing help badly on Pitching & Chipping and can find no basic understandable guide to it on here. Maybe because there are too many variables?

My overall game is pretty good overall I'd say. As a Pro I win 8/10 Blitzes against masters & legends etc, and my strokeplay is also good. But when it comes to a chip or pitch I can only make a random guess at what power to hit it.... with dire results!

Why is there no basic guide for this? The Wind/Elevation guide I found is very easy to understand but many of my strokeplay rounds are being ruined when a chip/pitch shot is required and Im left with a wild guess at it. Bethpage Hole 4 par 5 is a good example - I never get close to acheiving par here and bogey or double bogey is normal for me.
