SGTBilko: the factor for the wind is is a bit more than just halving it. The formula is (distance x wind factor percentage) +/- distance = shot
Thx for the input SGT .. always willing to learn somtin' new
I have to add though that my approach to wind is somewhat more refined than the example i used .. i will list them below and would like ur comments & insights:
- any shot under 100 yds with wind 10mph or less, i add half of wind velocity in yrd'ge
- shots 100yds + up to 180yds with velocity of 10-12mph or less i add about 60% of velocity in yrd'ge
- winds 13-15mph i'll add about 65% of velocity in yrd'ge
- winds 16-20mph, mid- to long range shot, i'll ad about 70-75% of velocity in yrd'ge
(these are for aggregate headwinds)
for tailwinds i'd use more or less the reverse, except if its longish range shot with winds in excess of 15 mph from behind i may take off about 80% of velocity in yrd'ge .. plus, depending on range & elevation, adjust backwards for a bit off roll
when i'm very close to the hole with strongish winds, lets say 50-60yrds, i would add/subtract less than 50% of velocity in yrd'ge
Cerino: anything on Lvl 83 G20 stoppoing power compared to Lvl 59 ? i read a post (can't remember which thread) where someone said that feel that the Lvl 83 G20 stops the ball even better than the Lvl 59's .. What ur opinion ?
