Has anybody out there come up with an at least semi-reliable method/chart/plan/whatever for judging how to compensate for a crossswind??

I'm fine adjusting for head/tail winds, and even the diaganol winds, but pure left to right/right to left crosswinds give me the blues.  I'm either comping too much or too little, with predictable results.

I know that each course has its own variances, but a starting point would be helpful.

    Thanks.

Trial and error is the only way.  You need to be able to visualize the shot before taking it.  Even 1 or 2 pixels of spin can make a big difference in trajectory and how it will interact with the wind.

Someone posted something along these same lines a week or so ago, but I've always used the blue box around the aiming arrow as a guide.... the width of that box is about what I figure as the drift caused by a 10 mph wind, 2 boxes= 20, etc. You still have to develop a feel for it, though. Every club & ball , every shot type, elevation, etc. all reacts differently, and that just goes down to what Bollie said..trial & error( in my case LOTS OF ERROR).
