    C = W*D/180

    C = correction in yards

    W = wind speed in mph

    D = shot distance in yds

    180 = magic #

    Take the vertical component of the wind in mph (with or against the direction of your shot) and multiply it by the distance in yards then divide by the magic # (180) and there's your correction.

    So if you're hitting a shot of 135 yds into a 19 MPH wind you get:

    19*135/180= 14.25

    Meaning you should add about 14 yds to your shot length - so you'd hit at 149 yds.

    Math, like golf, is a four-letter word - both of which are often expletives.

    What is the vertical component of the wind?

    How do you account for a 15mph blowing directly North, Northwest, West?

    The vertical component is the North/South component.

    If you have a 15 mph N then it's just 15

    15 NW would be about 10

    15 W would be 0

    How did you come abouts the magic number @ 180 . Is that number different or the same everytime?

    Ahhh crap I suck at math Ill just keep gripping it n ripping it less stress that way .Thanks tho !

    Bet you dont know how to figure out Classes in dimensional weight for shipping purposes. At least that makes you money LOL.

    180 is a constant and never changes. You might experiment with different values, say 170 or 190 and you might get better results.

    Slambango .. i'm gonna try ur methodology .. i believe it's a sound formula .. by my own way of reckoning i would have added 14-15 yrds to that shot, which +- equals ur calculations ..

    Thats easy?   Move the cursor.. grip.. rip.. and learn how to putt... that's much easier!
