  While we're at it: Where did it come from? (How) has it been announced?

  AFAIK it's a gift from the US Open Qualifier, and I found no announcement on the WGT site nor did I see any mail beforehand.

  I only got the message "You earned a WGT Bonus" out of the blue, after the first completion of the Qualifier.

  Was there any pre-announcement?

  You got the Lexus Avatar for playing in the qualifier. They stated that last year. They also gave a free Ketel 1 vodka avatar to those of us who played in the Ketel 1 tourney last year. I don't remember if they have given any other free avatars for playing in any other qualifiers. And I don't recall any announcement beforehand,
