So there I was on the 18th tee of St Andrews. The wind was blowing left to right at 19 mph (a slight breeze for that course). I aimed left, pulled back all the way and....when the meter approached the ding it jumped. I missed by an inch at least.

I haven't seen that severe a slice in years. The ball went out about 30 yards and swung directly right either into a windshild of a car or through the window of one of the stores that line the street!

So I'm thinking....how awesome would it be to have a breaking glass sound effect right at that time!

One bad day on St A I was hitting 4 iron punch shots at the club house thinking the same thing. ;-)

    (OT real life story)

I recently read a book by George Peper who ownes a flat in one of the first old buildings off the 18th tee. Besides other interesting stories of life in STA, game on the courses, membership in the R&A etc. he writes that he stopped buying balls because of all the errant shots landing in his backyard.

The downside being that cars parked there get an unmistakable look...

As I was reading this, I couldn't help but think of a cash register "cha-ching" sound effect.
