Finished my match with Luc (7thwave). Not the best golf generally in the first nine holes although still some birds mainly from Luc, my putter was cold as a cold Corona (as usual), he was playing better then me and was ahead in hole 8 for 2 up, but I made a great approach at hole 9 to finish only 1 up for Luc after nine holes.

Second nine holes were on my side & we made some great shots that landed within 2 feet from the hole in several holes. Luc started having problems with his putting & end it up making a couple of 3 putt holes that turned the balance to my favor.

Great guy Luc & a real gentleman, I enjoyed a lot the match, not sure he did...at the end. Thanks a lot Luc, we play together again soon m8.

LOLserver wins 2 UP vs 7thwave

Regards & thanks for the invite, Eric

    EDIT

ps...HOPE is not Oakmond again for the next round...lets play Oly!.

3 putt holes only because you conceded them!! Otherwise we'd still be waiting for me to hole out..:-)))..A well deserved win Eric. The better player won. Like you said, some great approaches to within 2-3 feet to solve the general putting issue would've clinched it anyway; me 3-putting or not.

    C ya!!

Just finished my match with Darren (Dazza501).  This got off interesting, where we traded the first 4 holes alternating birds. On 5 both birdied, 6 both eagled. I managed to bird 7 to take a 1 up lead. We finished up with birds on the front  with me being 1 up.

On the back, I took a 3up lead with birds at 10 and 11.  Darren got 1 back on 12 with a bird. 2 up to 13. I took 13 as his putt slide by and I tapped in for bird.   14 both parred and 15 both birdied. On 16 I chipped in for eagle to take the match 4&2.

Darren played a great round and just a few shots where he caught a upslope on approaches cost him. He should be considered a wildcard as he played -10 through 16 holes.

Was a pleasure Darren and glad I was able to play with you. Hopefully we get paired up in our CC event.

Thank you for being flexible with your time to get this match in prior to my mini vacation.

Thanks for the game Jon (Mongo). It was a pleasure to play against you and i look forward to any matches we have in the future.

As for a wildcard pick, hey, i'll give it 110% anytime i play but if not then i'll still be here watching this match against the Deviations with great interest. Good luck to all players taking part.

Mongo, Congratulations! You're the first official member of the WGT All Star Team. Very well done!

Have a great vacation and we'll see you when you get back.

    DAZZA,

Great job in the invitational, and as Mongo mentioned, -10 thru 16 is a strong round by anyone's standards. You should be proud of yourself, if not for your skills, then for your great sportsmanship. Very well done, too.

Thank you and thanks to all involved running this event.  I'm looking forward to seeing how the rest of the bracket fills out.  Certainly wasn't easy getting through and on another day perhaps I'm out in the first round. Feel fortunate/honored to get the chance to represent the "All Stars" and to everyone else who has a upcoming match. Best of luck.

    Jon

Played Poldimaier who is an excellent guy and player (and plays off a 1 handicap in RL the b******!). 1st few holes he hit some quality shots and was 1 up. I managed to turn it around at the end of the front 9 and a 20 footer for birdie on 11th helped too. Final result a 4&3 win although was closer than that scoreline suggests. Happy to get through and like Jon in previous post will be watching the rest of the results to see who joins us. Good luck to everyone still to play

Well, to play with Ally is mixed blessing.......he is a great guy and gentleman but merciless player! the first nine we had a tough match but then it felt like falling down the stairs to me ,-))))

so....to the deviation who has to play Ally: "Put all the birdies and eagles you can get into your bag otherwise you will have a bad day!" ,-)

i´ll keep my fingers crossed for the "All-Star-Team" - GOOD LUCK to all Players!!

    Poldi

Congratulations Ally! We now have enough all stars for an AS team!

Poldi's post will show up as soon as his posts quit being moderated (ahem, icon?).

I can tell you he was very happy to be part of the All Star qualifier and he has tremendous respect for your game Ally.

As is the norm with this group, his good sportsmanship and friendliness is also something to be applauded.

Very Nice Poldi, and thank you for being part of the event.
