    chris5214:

my avg was on 61.7 yesterday .. playin' 9 hole ranked games mostly due to time considerations .. but i'm shooting 31's for the last 5 or so rounds, yet my avg keeps on coming down .. ?

    went from 61.7 > 61.62 after 31 over 9 .. then from 61.62 > 61.56 after another 31 ..

might this be due to number of ranked rounds at TM that i've played already ? did a quick count & have 52 ranked rounds ..

Like Cerino said, you have just started to kick out the lesser good rounds from your average. Not that there are many:

Looking at your score history, you seemingly substituted scores of 65 and 66 by 62s, that's a drop by 7/50 = 0.14.

Unfortunately, no precise statement is possible for me because the WGT tournament results are still hidden, i.e. not included in the score history.

hey Alosso, yeah it seems that way .. TM looming for you ;)

YJ .. gotta say, only through half  a round on practice mode with Burners ( teeing off with 3W of 3i) & wind set at low .. but if 1/2 round is anything to go by (dunno, will giv it a week; various conditions), i'm miiiightely impressed so far .. damn !

still tryin' to get used to extra spin & what it does on long range approach (the half dot xtra feels more like full dot vs the 59 g'20's) .. hit 185yd approach, wind 3mph tail .. full b/spin (of course) .. allowed for 4yd roll out .. ended up 3 yds short of pin .. with g20's would have been on or little past the hole .. so i gotta dial in the detail obviously .. fast meter yeah, but my Satins (which i use alot) has only slighty slower meter, so the meter not as bad as i thouht it would be .. i'm thinkin' after a week i'll likely stick with these honeys .. glad so far i listened to you ..

Cerino !! .. you gotta try these Burners man !

I love my L83 G 20's. My next move might be at L90 but we'll see. As far as long irons sticking to the greens, what you have now will stick mighty fine. You gotta do the math to land pin high now. That meter is something I just couldn't get used to hitting. TaylorMade is made too fast for me. I still play practice rounds with the free ball and Taylormades at that level are way to quick. When you get them all dialed in we'll play a range ball practice round and then we'll see what irons do what.

BTW, I recently played a practice round 56 on Oakmont from the tips with the free ball. ;-)

Jimminy Cricket !! nah, u'll whoop my ar$e mate .. i'm only on 2nd practice round with Burners now .. so early days .. but gotta say, i likey-likey ..

what i like most is the fact that i didn't have to change anything on my math for approaches vs the g20's .. same everything

still gonna get the lvl83 g's also .. compare notes between the 2 since u said the lvl83's stick harder than the lvl59's .. so interesting time for me right now ..

gonna play whole week with these B's & will keep 'em for sure ..

    seeya bud ..

Chris-Be careful with that spin. The best thing you can do is to start learning them without the spin. You'll appreciate what spin does more if you do. You'll get more predictable results just by choking down a bit, particularly with the shorter irons. Stay away from the full bs at first and try using partial spin. Into a wind, only 1/4-1/2 will stop the ball nice and knock a little yardage off.  Control the rollout after landing this way, too. Full bs really messes with distance, especially if you miss the ding.
