    OK I give up.

On this challenge I have tried punching, full shots, just about everything but throwing the ball, but other than overshooting by plenty or coming up way short still in the bunker I cannot figure this out.

The lie is 2-5% which I am assuming means that it is nearly perfect with 54 yards to go. I use 9 iron which can go 110 yards, hit it full and perfect timing, then the ball goes 31 yards

    WTF????

Can anyone give me indication of where I am going wrong?

You don't have to give me step by step, just an idea of what I am assuming incorrectly, please please please please

    Hi Paul,

This thread may provide some insight.  In the future try popping your question into the search box on the right.  Many times these questions have been asked and discussed at a decent length and you can save yourself some time instead of waiting on a response. =)

It's 25/30% in that bunker. It's a misprint. But on any hole the way to work it out is to hit well long, then give it a bit less in each future attempt until you get it right. Then make a note.

    Tricky one to get right.

First of all, you must ding it, or be pretty close to ding. Loss of ding to the left means off green past hole. Loss of ding to the right and it doesn't clear rough.

The shot I use is a punched 80W - punch gives you 68. Reduce a little if wind is behind you.

For the most part you still end up 10ft+ past, but still on green. Sometimes you can get within 5 or 6ft.

Don't catch the rough at the front, You're either stuck in it, or it propels the ball forward.

I'd still like it explained, why we can't apply a little BS out of bunkers around the green. I've seen Pros do it in Championships.

It's disheartening that you sometimes have no rescue shot. i.e. you're in bunker, close to pin, play it short and you don't make green, play to pin and you end up 10ft+ past. It's not always set up to flop.

It's not even that good. I believe WGTniv once said it was actually 45/50% .

I line up my shot(adjust for wind) and try to hit the shot 70 yards with my wedge. It getsme the heartbeat sound most times.
