I've been working some very early shifts so I checked the US Open Championship rounds and it said the deadline for round ONE was the 21st of June...Now correct me if I'm wrong but shouldn't that be until midnight on the 21st and not the 20th??

I sat down at my computer this morning as it was my first day off this week so I figured I'd play my round today....to my dismay I've missed the cut without hitting a ball!

I feel hard done by on this one WGT, please tell me why you set a deadline for the 21st and then called it a day on the 20th!

I can imagine there'll be more players that it's happened to as well

As far as I'm concerned, if something is falsely advertised irrespective of the fine print, they ought to honour their mistakes

To top it off they make the 2nd round "slow greens".............i thought this was the US Open ?????   The biggest event of the WGT calendar............it's not bloody mini golf you pack of muppets...................because i choose to play ranked rounds 99% of the time i play the green speed my tier should be playing, not this slow green rubbish, thx for wasting my time WGT.................

I was also a bit surprised with the dates - all multiround tournies are played Mon-Thurs for round 1, and then Fri-Sun for round 2...

Unlike you guys, I did see somewhere that round 1 went until the 20th (I think from the "Tournaments" page on wgt.com website... so I got my round in, but it's a major bummer that you 2 (and i wonder how many more??) missed out...

Slow greens sure does throw a spanner in the works.. might have to go and practice them now

Well, it looks like only 171 players posted scores in round 1 - so that means that 28 players didn't. 28 !!! After all that effort in qualifying to get there ???

You reckon, i've had 5 foot putts hit with OVER 8 foot of power stop before the hole as if my ball had formula 1 brakes.

when you are so used to reading breaks through tournament/championship speed, slow greens are like starting from scratch again.  Breaks dont work the same as you have to hit ball harder, so it leaves club faster, ignoring breaks yet slows down quickly too, and even though you think you've hit the putt with ample power, it may stop an inch before hole.  Easy to 3 putt on slow greens .LOL

when in doubt, read the rules.....

The 2012 VIRTUAL U.S. OPEN STROKE PLAY TOURNAMENT event consists of a three-phase (qualifying round and two championship rounds) skill-based contest and a sweepstakes. In the skill-based contest, entrants compete for the best scores in a qualifying stroke play tournament round between May 6th, 2012 and June 17th , 2012, and the 156 top scoring entrants  in the qualifying round (plus any additional entrants who are tied in the 156th position) compete for the best score in a two-round championship stroke play tournament between June 18th   (Round 1) through June 20th  and June 21st through June 24th, 2012 (Round 2) (the “Contest”). Contest entrants who meet geographic eligibility criteria for sweepstakes entry as defined below (the “Sweepstakes”) will automatically be entered into the Sweepstakes. The combined 2012 VIRTUAL U.S. OPEN STROKE PLAY TOURNAMENT event including the Contest and the Sweepstakes is referred to herein as the “Promotion.”
