Default club selections need to be addressed

  Nice thread you have revived!

  Look at the very beginning:

  AL complaining (read the first paragraph only),

  Iconian agreeing,

  and WGT's answer:

  WGTadmin:

   We will look into changing the club defaults soon.

  So, then, there were answers given, but even at that time, promises and hopes, and what has happened?

  It's not so much putter scales that catch me but wedges. If I'm 48 yards from the pin I don't expect to be offered a 100 yard wedge when I have a 75 and a 50. Hole 3 on Bethpage has more silliness, I've lost count of the number of balls I've lost because it gives me a 282 yard club when I have a 240 three wood.

  The wedge one is understandable as we all carry different wedges and having 3 evenly spaced wedges* will confuse the poor guy.Giving us a driver for a 3 wood shot is cruel although with starter clubs it would need a driver.

  I beg to differ:

  We also carry different iron sets and most of the time we get the right club.

  The default selection through the green should be the next longer club with a full shot, and the next longer putting scale on the greens.

  Another situation overstraining that drunk lad:

  Carry a (Rapture) 3WD which is longer than the (Starter) driver, and he will present you the Starter driver on every Par4 and Par5 tee. *grrrr!*

  You're right again my friend , I hadn't thought that through.

  In my defense, I had just found my caddies hip flask at the bottom of my bag.
