It's quite common here to ask questions to the more experienced ppl, new players are even invited to do so.

Questions include buying clubs, calculating shots, slopes and wind on and off the green, tiers and average.

Why should this special question be different for any curious guy?

Why is it different for those who know?

(is it because of the feeble acceptance?)

Any Legend using a wedge on the green has hit a horrible approach and goes to the wedge to bail them out because of their vast experience with a grim iron game that puts them in position to use the ignorant option. Not Legendary, just shake'N'bake quickies.

IMO, all I know is that in the true spirit of the game, a real golfer would not use their wedges "on the green" out of respect for proper etiquette as to the conditions of the course. The only time I saw it done was in a PGA tournament when there was a knob jutting out on the side of the green and the pro's ball was just on the edge with no line to putt the ball at the hole. He had to fly/chip it over the knob to get his ball to near where the hole was. Otherwise it is considered bad etiquette.

I realize this is but a "surreal & virtual" world and there is no "damage" done to the green, but even still, it is just not right to do something that you wouldn't do on a real golf course. We would run someone off that tried that on our course.

    Don't butcher the greens!

It's just another arrow in the quiver, another tool in the box (shrug).
