What....is it me, or is the backspin option just there to screw with your head, and does nothing at all! I haven't seen any discernible difference in ball reaction on the greens, even playing a wedge, from the fairway.

it's not as effective with starter balls. once you get clubs with have backspin dots + use wedge with backspin dots, you will see some backspin.

Try the Cleveland or new ATV wedges, they give a "little" backspin.
Max, now you'll see some improvement with the Tour-S balls you chose.
You'll certainly add to the fun and success with one or two custom wedges - you won't imagine the difference before you do it.

You can stop the starter wedges. You must leave yourself a full shot, if you take any power off, it will roll out.

Actually, it's not about the money, it's about time and patience. There are a great number of very good players here with top gear that never spent a cent out of pocket. They used the free offers in concert with what winnings they could accumulate. However, if you are like me and NOT that patient, you spend the money.
I've won NO tourneys and done only videos and level 69 with all starter stuff, saving up. Not gonna be able to buy a lot, but I'll be able to get the nike lvl 77 putter I want and maybe a wedge or two and stuff. Takes a long time @_@
