Hey, wondering if top players could share some advice about playing the Olympic Club.

Why would top players share much info?  To make us better?  They don't owe that to anyone.  Making the beginners better only ruins their future competition anyway.

Look at online poker.  All the free education took a lot of the "edge" out of the game for the better players.

I wouldn't even waste my time asking better players for tips if they are strangers.  Build a relationship with some of them.  Earn some credibility first and join a country club where they will perhaps befriend you and help you.

Put the time into the game.  You don't get something for nothing.

I'm by no means a "top player", but here's my effort at advice for playing Olympic successfully:

I used a combination of the USGA course description and a lot of WGT play on the course, making particular effort to analyze the green slopes. One of these days I may do the same for Oak - another course where how you place your approach shots can make a huge difference in how makable the resulting putts will be.
