YankeeJim: More than likely you're missing the first 2-3 feet of break at your feet.
Could well be the case. I just played a B9 RG, and studied a putt well. Front and reverse views in putt / chip view were saying that little booger breaks sharp left, just in front of club face, before that 9 feet of right break. Well went with what I could see and straight through the initial but took all the rest..........How some players turn up to a new course and just putt through is beyond me, but I never can.
Now OK that's a not a new course though. The real smart play would be for me to have made copious notes / saved a replay / converted to GIF etc, but I never of course, and pretty sure give it a month will wonder at the same putt and may or may not get it right.
Look at the entire putt though for sure. Move that aim marker all around to build a topography in the minds eye. is it really 10' ? as moving that aim market an inch may throw up 11' etc........
YankeeJim: I'm not aware of grain factoring into a putt,
If the arrow is pointing up I am more aggressive if anything, but maybe that's fairy dust lol.
