    Labordayk,

If the game physics wasn't changed, but complemented with more decision making variables to make the game more realistic and more difficult, such as slope of the lie, would you still have a problem with that?

Spin already exaggerates deviation as it is if you miss the ding.

I think this is dependent on where you are in the game.

I'm still relatively new to Legend.  Still discovering how to use my R11s.  Enjoying the long tees, but still need a lot of time on Legend/Champ greens.  I'm finally at the point to see if I can get good enough to compete at the top.  So, I'd really rather not deal with more complications at this point.

But I can see where people who have been Legends for a while, have mastered their equipment and all the courses and conditions, might want a new challenge.

If the new complications were for a new Tour Legend tier, or some such, I certainly wouldn't have a problem with that.

If I can get to the point where I've mastered everything at the Legend tier, I'm sure I'll want new challenges, too.

But till then, I'd rather zero in and see if I can make some unrealistic scores.

According to icon, those who have mastered the game and have gotten bored with it are about to get a new challenge in the way of a new tier.

yeah please .. i'm still trying to get used to Burner mtr speed and long tees ...

the day i can get close to or on ding more consistently & have more experience, then i also will relish a new challenge ... ball lie, slope, draw/fade .. bring it on .. but reserve tornadoes, hail, lightning, eartquakes, tsunamis, solar flares, volcanoes & zombies for a new tier ..

Good thoughts there, Labor. I'm curious as to how they would make it more difficult. Faster greens would be an obvious start but since the yardages of the holes isn't going to change appreciably, if at all, what else would you think would change?

    YankeeJim:

Does it? If it does, why not make that extra risk visible similar to my example. It is very hard to tell if it is the wind or something else. In tailwind I do not notice much difference in mishits with or without spin.

    Thanks, Jim.

Well, to begin with, I think artificially lengthening the tees to make the game more realistic doesn't make sense.  And don't you think Championship green speed is icy enough?

I think what you old timers (only a reference to time here at WGT) have been suggesting for some time now, stance and slope parameters, if they could be applied only to a higher Legend tier, could give the best a test.

Of course, they could just double the meter speeds for Tour Legends, and then they could introduce a new top ball to reduce it, again.  ;)

To what end? So you can get deviated some more? All you have to do is quit using spin for a round and then play the same round with it. Assuming you don't ding every single shot you would see this.

Thanks, but no thanks. I already have enough trouble without trying to make my shots harder. I only have to miss the ding by the narrowest margin to go flying off the fairway. Putting more deviation into shots will result in me and many others looking for a new hobby to look for.
