been playing awhile now and have reached master. untill recently i was lowering my avg shooting -4 for nine holes. now for the past month i've been stuck n 63.73. this gm  is frustrating enough as it is, now i shoot -4 and i feel like a fk'n hack. can anyone give me some insight please.

Same deal for me.  Used to lower average with -3, reached 65.0 average, now must have a -4.  I am also on the Master level.  my nickle.

shooting -4 for 9 holes =64 shots per round,if you are already under 64 ave there is no way it will lower. That is unless you score -4 at BPB or Oakmont hope this helps.

Best of Par 3 or 5 scores do not affect your avg. when played

With what ECB said in mind...

Don't worry about how far under par you shoot as much as just total score....

Since our averages are based on 18 hole scores and 9 hole scores are doubled to count as an 18 hole score a 30 for 9 holes will double to 60, 31 doubled to 61 etc, etc.

If you pay attention to much to, let's say a -4 for 9 holes, then that could mean a 30 for one 9 hole track, or it could mean a 32 for another.  That "-4" could turn out to be a 60, 62 or 64 that's used in your average.

Nostalgia ain't what it used to be.

I love it when old threads come back to life, just reinforces my view that there ain't much new to be said maybe.

True, but it's the thread starter himself that dug up the old 2012 thread.
