    LOL, timely.    100 meter Track and Field event?   Too funny Tessie!

    Just heard the USA soccer team won their first game, who'd they play-- London pre-schoolers?

    R1 & R2 closed

    I know that Villa has played his round as he asked me a question last night whether to post or not. As he's in communication with me, his score will be counted once it's been submitted (+ his partner for that round). No further scores can be accepted for R1 / R2 beyond this post.

    Round 3 pairings to come and R3 conditions as well.....

    James

    Round 3 Cut

    The Rio Tinto Championship

    Another week, another tightly bunched field with the cut stretching down to -5. Everyone was sorely tested by having to use the WGT Starter Irons and that will continue into the final round.

    LuisCraveiro keeps up his excellent standard by leading the way on -14. Given the conditions and club requirement, this is an outstanding effort. BaaBaaBoom, Tiaz79 and Mongo441 came in with -12's and should prove to be the closest contenders to Luis going into the 3rd round.

    There are plenty of fresh faces to the top 30 positions so the scoring could allow for a gap to be created at the top for a few of the leading names. A big well done to Coleisthe1 & Cagster who become the first non-legends to qualify for R3 of an event without having to use a ranked round; an excellent achievement particularly given the mandatory equipment in play.

    Round 3 Conditions

    Course = Best of Famous (Back 9)

    Ranked round

    Equipment Restriction = WGT Starter Irons

    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    End of R3 = Monday 30th July 2012 at 12pm GMT

    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Please use the link below to find your designated partner. Try to make all attempts to play with this individual but if it's not possible use the following method:

    - use one of the ten R3 Markers (named in first post); markers are to remember that their first round counts as their R3 score

    - if not possible, use a WGF Tour player who you have not partnered with during R1 and R2

    - please always update your designated partner if you do use a marker

    R3

    Jimbean346 = 31

    Priestess = 30

    Tess and I got R3 underway with some solid shooting throughout. Both players missed one makeable birdie putt each but we were helped by favourable winds throughout the round. It'll be interesting to hear the shot choices people had to make as there's a few tricky ones in the round for sure.

    There's two cards; after the first hole (which didn't use the starter irons), Tess realised that she'd selected the wrong irons (EZ Swingers). We therefore restarted with the correct equipment from 2nd.

    I'll admit that I forgot to take the screenshot of Tess's club choice mistake so I'll take a warning for this.
