Does playing in Alternate Shot and Blitz games count toward advancing from on tier to another?  Say from Tour Pro Level to Master??? Or is only Stroke play considered???

No to your first question, and yes to the third.

Only ranked strokeplay rounds, 9 or 18 holes, including tournaments count towards the average, and the average is the main clue to tier advancement.

"Do Match Play scores affect my Average Score or Tier ranking?

Yes, Match Play games do affect your score average and your tier ranking. If you play a match play game against a player of higher tier and win the match your score average will be affected which could affect your tier ranking."

Now, the question I still have is: "Do Alternate Match Play scores affect my Average Score or Tier ranking?"

From what I've found, that question isn't specifically covered in the Help section titled "ALTERNATE SHOT"

Maybe Alternate Shot is included when WGT says "Yes, Match Play games do affect your score average and your tier ranking."  However, to me, it is ambiguous.

Thanks in advance for anyone who could tell me if Alternate Shot rounds affect tier ranking.

Alternate Shot games are "Practice"...not "Ranked", therefore, they do not affect your average, and do not help any in tier advancement. They do add experience points, which are needed to move up in levels.

When you set an alt shot game the mode is locked on scored but greyed out.

Doesn't have any effect on average or tier.

    I know the FAQ :)

Please look at the posting dates:

My post was before they added the anti-sandbagging measures, including the cited effect.

In the meantime, it appears as if only challenge matches are included in these measures.

    Greets of Change!

    Thanks for the response everyone.

Thanks alosso, It's cool.  I suspected there might have been a change in game since your post was made.

I just started this game on the 16th of this month.  I just wanted to put some updated info on this thread because some players might be searching for the answer to that question as I was, and get the outdated info.

As to the Altnernate Match Play issue, Thanks, RKPayne & PaulTon.

I know that the matches are recorded on your "STATS" tab on the profile.  My Alternate Match Play record is 5-2, but I have 0 Current Month Match Play Points.  Is there a difference between "Ranked" and "Tracked?"

Because they are recorded on my STATS tab, I'm not completely sure these matches are considered "Practice."

The fact that I have 0 Match Play Points leads me to believe that Alternate Matches do not count towards Tier and Average.  However, I am still not certain.

AFAIK only single match play will count against Monthly MP Points (rated games with points acc. to tier relation, see FAQ) and average (probably only challenge rounds against higher tiers).

A/S has no effect there, and not against the completion %%, the reason for all being that you play in a team there. It's for fun and for a few XPs only :)

    (apart of that single record)
