You folks can piss and moan all you want about the Kiawah Championship. Zag don't care! Zag just scored his first ever hole-in-one on the 5th in the final round ... and then ... on the 8th ... his SECOND hole-in-one!

    Zag, on Assumption Day

Who ordered the ice skating rinks on Kiawah Championship ?

I quit after 5 holes - hit a 7 yard putt on the 15 yard meter meter 1/3rd of the way (5 yards).  It went 31 feet on an almost flat piece of green (i.e only 1 inch of downslope) !

    Ho hum !

It must be boring running championships for a handful of elite amongst the hundreds of thousands who play and don't have a hope in hell of winning !

Legends down as far as spot 90 and then I got bored looking.

Sorry there's one Tour Master (cough cough cough) in there  !

Okay its an Open Championship but really it's a Legends Tournament - call it what it is and let the Legends play with themselves.

I enjoyed making the cut in Round 1 - but that's where the fun ended !

    Round 2 and Round 3 - forget it !

Dodging cars on the freeway at peak hour would be more enjoyable !

Yes yes I know some guys are good at it , play all the time, practice blah blah blah

Actually, I got the time right and played when I was supposed to... fool me once...

However, what I was ranting about was WGT once again just ignoring something that was an issue for the last tourney rather than correcting their mistake.  And it is a mistake.

I understand... on the East Coast, round 2 does indeed end ON the 15th and round 3 does indeed start on the 15th.  However, as I have stated repeatedly, if you are going to write 13-15, most will assume that means THROUGH the 15th, not 3 hours into it.

It's just so utterly and completely tone-deaf to the voices of their customers.  Last tourney, quite a few got burned by this dating policy, yet they do nothing to change it.   I'm mindful of them hearing all the complaints about sand-baggers and thus coming out with the power-up bars, making sand-bagging infinitely easier.

As to my prior, bent-out-of-shape rant, WGT admitted their mistake and sent me a buncha new balls for it.  They just didn't fix the issue.

So.... the Legends are the best players, who generally play from the farthest tees and shoot the lowest scores, but you have an issue with them leading the tourney?  You have all but admitted that you can't play with us, and apparently few other non-Legends can, and yet you'd like some of the not-as-good players higher on the leaderboard?

Do you think the NFL should have a dispensation where lesser teams get a free pass to the Super Bowl once in a while?  Perhaps we should give the Chicago Cubs a World Series title while we are at it?  Maybe grant N.O. and Carolina NBA titles?  Give Northwestern an NCAA title?

Shoot the scores, the leaderboard will take care of itself.

The common sense solution, and realistically the simplest, would be to have a countdown timer like we do in Country Club tournaments. The programming is obviously already there, just apply it to other tournaments, especially these 'big' ones. I don't understand why this isn't done... does it just make too much sense?

When you glance to the tournament screen and see this, you presume you can play on the 15th, as MBAGESSE's screen shot shows 13 to 14th (common sense dates shown) so having 13 to 15 you would think that 15 is o.k to play on

Or you could read the rules....

    WGT Kiawah Championship

    KIAWAH ISLAND: THE OCEAN COURSE

Play in the WGT Kiawah Championship, including new WGT hole locations on Kiawah. The qualifier is unlimited stroke-play and runs Wed 8/1 thru Sun 8/12. The top 50% of qualifying scores make the cut for 2 Championship single-play stroke-play rounds, first round posted Mon-Tu 8/13-14 and second round posted Wed-Thu 8/15-16. The champion with the best combined score wins an amazing Kiawah Golf Trip for 2 people, including airfare, hotel and golf at Kiawah. In addition, a lucky sweepstakes player will be selected from the qualifier to win a $500 Amazon gift card. See rules for eligibility and details.

Of course it is, just get up early mate.

We all know that these tournaments' clocks are in San Francisco, starting and stopping at midnight.

Transfer to our local clocks is always the same:

8 am for you, 9 am for me.
