Nothing against the games that WGT promote but I believe that their are other games that can be played either within the Club you belong to, or promoted by WGT.
Competition Suggestion No 1.
The following game is already being played within the Club I belong to, the Stableford Competition. For those who go out and play golf, you will know what I mean!!
Bogey = 1; Par = 2; Birdie = 3; Eagle = 4
However, you can improve your points with the handicap system. Each hole on the chosen course you play has a Stroke Index between 1 to 18, with 1 being the hardest and 18 being the easiest. For stroke players, the Stroke Index does not effect you, whereas a 5 handicapper will be given 5 strokes where holes with a Stroke Index between 1 to 5 will assist you.
If you manage a par on the hole you get a stroke, your score will normally will be 2 but with the stroke it becomes 3. If you get a bogey (1) your score will be (2) and so on.
The handicaps are as follows:
Legends - Scratch
Tour Master - 2 shots
Master - 3 shots
Tour Pro - 5 shots
Pro - 6 shots
Competition Suggestion 2
3 Clubs and a putter competition.
It is possible to play a round of gold with just three clubs. Driver, 5 iron, pitching wedge and your trusty putter is just one suggestion. However, WGT are very rigid that you cannot play a round of golf without a fill bag.
Again, this can be played as a Stableford scoring system and doesn't necessary be a WGT tournament but a tournament held within your club or as a matchplay competition.
Give us a chance to play different golf games!!!
